NHCS will operate on a two hour delay for Monday, January 13th. Students riding buses may experience some delays. Every effort will be made to pickup students. Students who live at Berkshire Pointe will be picked up on the outer loop of the area. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
School will now be in session on January 20th and February 17th. We have used our three asynchronous elearning days this week. State statute requires live instruction and interaction at 50% IF any more days are missed. Each building has sent out instructions and schedules in order to meet the requirements.
School will be closed on Thursday, January 9th AND Friday, January 10th. Both days will be elearning days. Assignments and instructions will be communicated to students by teachers from each building. We will be flexible with assignments and deadlines. We hope to return in person on Monday if the weather allows.
School will be closed on Wednesday, January 8th. This will be an E-Learning day. Assignments and instructions will be communicated to students by teachers from each building. We understand that not all students have devices at home. We will be flexible with assignments and deadlines for families with difficulties.
School will be closed on Tuesday, January 7th. This will be a traditional snow day (No E-Learning). We will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions moving forward. Stay safe!
School will be closed on Monday, January 6th due to inclement weather. This will be a traditional snow day (No E-Learning). In addition, all athletic practices are also canceled. We will continue to monitor the weather this week and communicate information to families. Stay safe!
We are monitoring the forecast for inclement weather. We have two built in snow days. Therefore, IF school is closed one or two days, those days will be traditional snow days (No Elearning) and made up in person. No decision has been made at this time. We will continue to communicate. Stay safe!
Happy New Year!

🎄Merry Christmas!🎄

Wishing all of our community, staff, and students a very happy holiday season. We will be back in session on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Yesterday Mrs. Ellett had Rita's Taco Shop cater lunch for the NHMS Staff as a Christmas gift. It was enjoyed by everyone! (Even though it was Mr. Rawert's birthday and he said it was a birthday lunch for him! ) 🤣 Thank you, Mrs. Ellett! 🎁

NHMS Honor Society hosted a Christmas Card Extravaganza this past week. Students in all grades could make Christmas cards that were then delivered to a local nursing home Wednesday night by the Honor Society ❤️💚🐾

So proud of our NHMS FCS students for adopting an angel family this Christmas season. They decided to use the proceeds from our building pumpkin decorating contest back in October to purchase items and also brought in additional gifts during these past few weeks to bless this family ❤️💚🐾

💚"There's no Grinch sighting here!" 💚
Mrs. Ellett is working to transform the NHMS Teacher's Lounge into a comfortable space for staff to enjoy and relax on their prep periods and lunch! She had some of her best Elves mount the large TV on the wall in the lounge. Staff are now able to watch shows when they are on their break! She has additional ideas to continue to improve the space! Thank you, Mrs. Ellett!

Yesterday the students in Mrs. Wade's lab classes created bioplastics from milk and vinegar. They made their bioplastics and created Christmas ornaments for our "Chemis-tree". This lab activity was a great way to wrap up this unit. It provided another hands on activity to witness chemical reactions, and polymer formations as well as a platform to discuss synthetic materials and the potential environmental benefits of using bioplastics instead of traditional plastics.

The middle school and high school Cross-Country runners participated in an ugly Christmas sweater run today!!

Congratulations to our 7th Grade November Students of the Month.

Congratulations to our 6th Grade November Students of the Month.

NHMS Student Council - Pie in the Face Fundraiser
Pie in the Face was one of this year's Student Council fundraisers for Eagle Court, which is a duplex community currently being built in Corydon that will house homeless or at-risk veterans. We raised over $250 as a building with the sixth graders raising $190 of that $250. Mr. Walker had the most money in his jar and was the lucky staff member winning the Pie in the Face!
