On Saturday, our Mascot (Now semi-officially named Harrison) and the cheer squad marched in the Corydon Veterans Day parade.

The North Harrison Veterans Day Assembly will take place on Friday, November 10 beginning at 8:45 am in the NHHS gym.   We are inviting all those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Our FFA will be hosting a breakfast in conjunction with our Veteran’s Day Assembly for all Veterans and their families on Friday November 10, from 7:00 am until 8:15 am in the NHHS Auditeria. If you are a Veteran and plan to attend the breakfast, please RSVP to this event so we can get an idea of how many people to cook for, online at: https://forms.gle/w6p3Q7KBvSrrG1Dv8

This is a reminder that Tuesday, November 7th is Parent-Teacher Conference day. There is no school for students.

Morgan Elementary will be hosting a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 11, from 8am-2pm. There will be over 50 vendors, breakfast foods to purchase, along with food trucks set up outside. Please consider shopping our local small businesses and vendors. We hope to see you there!

Pizza and ice cream were a nice afternoon treat for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who earned 10 or more trophies on their individualized math learning path by the end of the first quarter. Congrats to all of these deserving students!

Mrs. Dean's class has been working on fact families in math and learning about our community in reading. For our stem activity, students got in groups and created a fact family house. Then, they got to work as a group to create a community out of the houses they made. They came up with several different jobs that are very important to our community.

NHE 4th graders are going "gaga" over their new Gaga Pit! This project was a CTE/STEM Cross-Curricular Collaboration between NHHS Mrs. Sauerheber's Landscape & Turf class, Mrs. Kerns' Finance & Investment class, Mr. Sauerheber's Ag Power class, Mr. Shiner's Art class, and Mr. Murphy's Construction classes.

Harrison County Community Foundation - Dual Credit Support for Local High School Students The Dual Credit Support program aims to provide Harrison County high school students with equal opportunity to pursue a college education. HCCF’s intent is to maximize dual credit opportunities at little to no cost for students or families, thereby eliminating financial barriers to academic success. This is a reminder that NHCS Fall Break begins on Friday, October 6 (no students). School will resume on Monday, October 16.

All buildings will be under a boil water advisory on Thursday. Students are encouraged to bring water bottles from home. Water will be provided as needed.

Parents, We wanted to inform you of an alleged threat, involving a weapon, that was made toward North Harrison High School. Police were immediately contacted and are investigating. We do not believe the threat to be credible. However, all acts of this nature are taken seriously. Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an extra police presence on campus. If the investigation reveals any information that parents and students need to be aware of, we will certainly pass it along. The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority.

NHMS 7th graders learned about Archery in Mr. Cooper's PE class today!

Mr. Johnson's 4th grade class worked on their group collaborations today in reading. Groups were tasked with starting a business that would help others and to consider the steps to take to start their businesses.

In focus on our STEM initiative, Ms. Hollen’s class talked about where you would go if you floated down a river. They learned that there’s a pattern with all rivers. They all start on elevated land areas such as mountains or hilly terrain and all eventually end up in one of our Earth’s oceans. In partner pairs they created their own “land.” They took their projects outside to see what happens when it rains in these areas. They discussed how the rainwater rolls downhill to the lower areas and forms these rivers. The kiddos’ had a great time with this today and are looking forward to the rest their erosion-themed STEM activities the rest of this week.
