Rachel Shepard and the NHMS Cafeteria staff provided the NHMS Staff with an amazing full spread of Thanksgiving food for lunch today. We are so thankful for all of their hard work in putting this together and to Mrs. Ellett for taking care of the meals for everyone. The food was delicious! (Unfortunately, there are no pics of the food because everyone was too busy eating.)

Mr. Rawert's 6th Science Classes have been learning about Moon Phases. They demonstrated their knowledge by doing a tasty science activity called Oreo Cookie Moon Phases. Students had to seperate the cookie and create the moon phases out of the frosting,

8th grade students in Mrs. Wade's science lab ignited steel wool (iron) with 9 volt batteries. They weighed their wool before burning it and after burning it. They were surprised that it weighed more after the combustion reaction occurred because the iron atoms from the steel wool combined with oxygen atoms from the air. The end result of the chemical reaction was iron oxide. The students also used this lab as an opportunity to investigate the Law of Conservation of Mass.

Last night some members of our community received a text message with political statements that contained our school logo. This message was NOT sent from anyone associated with NHCSC. It appears to be text message spam sent from a non-working number.

This is a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL for students on Tuesday, November 5th (Election Day).

Congratulations to 6th grade Pumpkins Chunkin challenge winners at 63 ft 4 in. 🎃
