Your North Harrison Cougar Harriers performed admirably at our largest and most competitive race of the season competing against over 3,500 runners. Sixty-six different schools from five neighboring states attended the 56th Annual Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational including elite teams from Ky., Ind., Ohio, Tenn., and West Virginia. Despite injuries and missing several key runners, the Boy’s Varsity team finished in 13th place overall with 349 points and a pack time of 2:15. Johnnie Guy came in 8th place with a PR time of 15:34, Josh Guy came in 38th place with a time of 16:16, Jason Head finished in 61st place with a PR time of 16:37, Daniel Fleace finished in 104th place with a PR time of 17:09, and Curtis Wetzel finished in 176th place with a PR time of 17:49. In the boy’s open race Wesley Haub finished in 73rd place and had a PR time of 19:00, Gary Young finished in 129th place and had a PR time of 20:15, and John Fessel finished in 194th place and had a PR time of 22:25. The boy’s team all in all had 7 PRs at the end of the day.
The girl’s team had their best race of the season with 5 individual PRs at the end of the day. In the Girl’s Varsity Race, Ashton Bosler ran very well and finished in 37th place with a PR time of 19:55. Natalie Hollensead also had a PR time of 21:18 and finished in 98th place. In the girl’s open race the team finished in 13th place with a score of 341 points and a pack time of 1:41. Shelby Lindsey finished in 72nd place and had a PR time of 23:05, Hayley Elliott finished in 81st place and had a PR time of 23:11, Savannah Taylor finished in 111th place and had a PR time of 24:06, Sydney Taylor finished in 133rd place with a time of 24:40, and Abbey Stone finished in 137th place with a time of 24:47.
